It’s that time of year and the smelt run is showing astounding numbers! This is the 7th year since the causeway gates opened and the run seems to be the largest yet. Smelt are a vital forage species to repeat spawning salmon so this is good news for those salmon that over wintered in the system. We would like to thank John Bagnall for the smelt pictures.
