In 2002 and 2003, Fort Folly youth and youth from the local Dorchester community worked together in building a catalogued inventory of the flora and fauna on the Fort Folly Reservation.  An herbarium was purchased (now located at the Fort Folly Habitat Recovery building) and with help of botanists and Elders, special thanks to Elder Gilbert Sewell, the youth were able to identify the flora and fauna while classifying them into the Latin, English and Mi’kmaw languages.

Approximately 156 plants were identified, catalogued, and stored in the herbarium.
